The Foundation is a dedicated entity with a separate Board with the key focus on the long-term financial sustainability of the club for the next 100 years. 

The funds will be managed by professional advisers under the watch of the Foundation’s Board, with appropriate governance, accountability and transparency. The club has the right to appoint two members to the Foundation Board, with a majority of the Foundation Board independent of the Club Board and appointed based on the specific skills and experience required to fulfill the Foundation’s objectives.

Michael Silbert

Michael has been a qualified lawyer since 1985 and has practised predominantly in corporate / commercial roles in private practise and as in-house lawyer and company secretary for public companies for the last 30 years. In this context he has been responsible for legal, corporate governance and compliance for a series of diverse organisations, the largest being one of Indonesia’s national telecommunications companies, as well as a number of medium-sized Australian listed companies.

Michael has served on the Scotch College Foundation since 2018. The Scotch College Foundation has raised and manages a fund of approximately $46M.  He has been a North Cott Club Member since 1992 as an active member, AGM and running the Cadets programme from 2007 to 2013. He worked with the Club’s Strategy Committee to engage the Club’s membership and deliver the Club’s renewed strategic plan in 2021 and has been part of the Foundation Working Group since 2023.

Roger Steinepreis

Roger is the Executive Chair of Partners of Steinepreis Paganin, the largest specialist corporate law firm in Perth, Western Australia.

Effective 2015, Roger took the role of Executive Chair of Partners and remains actively involved in the practice of law. He is involved in the WA mining industry as the past Chair of Apollo Consolidated Limited. He is currently a non-executive director of Meeka Metals Limited and Chair of Arika Resources Limited and Enegex Limited.

Steinepreis Paganin has set up a charitable foundation, previously chaired by Roger, which supports local Western Australian charities. The foundation has been operating for 15 years and is proud of the support it provides to the local community. Roger has been a member of North Cottesloe SLSC for many years and has also provided generous sponsorship support to the club during that time.

Roger is the current patron and a life member of the University of Western Australia Football Club, the largest and most successful amateur league club in Australia. Roger has been part of the Foundation Working Group since 2023.

Kelly Moss

Kelly joined North Cottesloe SLSC in 1996, was awarded Long Service Membership in 2009 and Life Membership in 2023. She served as the club’s Administrator from 2001-2003 before returning in 2007 to take on the new role as General Manager. During this time the Club was awarded the Surf Life Saving WA Club of the Year Award for excellence in all areas of operations in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

Kelly coordinated the previous building fundraising project for the club, securing a $500,000 Lotterywest Grant and raising $1M through a fundraising drive within the membership.

Kelly has worked with the Department of Sport and Recreation for a number of years, is a qualified bookkeeper and is now the Managing Director of her own successful business. She served on the Surf Life Saving WA Board from 2011-2017.

Kelly has led the Foundation Working Group and working through the various legal, financial, governance, marketing and consultation aspects of the project.

James Forbes

James is the current Chair of Governance and Strategy at the North Cottesloe SLSC and has been an integral part of the Foundation Working Group. He has been an active and long service  member of North Cottesloe SLSC for many years.

James is currently a Director at Deloitte and has been a senior executive of two start-ups, two acquisitions and numerous business integrations. He was also a General Manager at RAC WA for over ten years.

He is part of the Alumni of Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Program), has completed a Masters of Business Administration (Advanced) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
